This initial appointment is all about determining your treatment goals and building a custom plan that works for your needs, lifestyle, and budget. Finding the perfect treatment plan for you
Whichever location you choose, you’ll be warmly greeted by our front desk team when you arrive. After introducing you to a few members of our talented team, you’ll be given a brief tour to help you feel more comfortable with your surroundings. We’ll then sit down with you to review your medical and dental history forms. Following this, we’ll take a few digital photographs and X-rays of your smile for our diagnostic records. These give us a good idea of what’s happening beneath the surface to understand your needs better.
Once these are complete, it’s time to meet the doctor! Dr. Guymon will perform a quick and painless examination of your teeth and jaws. He’ll use this information along with the diagnostic records to provide you with a customized treatment plan. The diagnostic records will also be used to track the progress of your teeth as they move throughout the treatment process.
It’s important to use that you feel confident in each step of your orthodontic journey with us. We never want you to feel rushed through appointments, especially not the first one! You can expect to spend about an hour with us for your initial evaluation. This gives us plenty of time to discuss your concerns and answer any questions you may have. We’ll also cover a range of important topics, including:
- any oral issues present that orthodontics can correct
- whether treatment is needed now or if it would be better to delay it until the appropriate growth, tooth eruption, or other factors have occurred
- if any permanent teeth will need to be removed before beginning treatment
- what treatment options are available to address the problem
- the estimated treatment tim
- the investment required
- any payment options available to you

Regular follow-up visits are an essential part of any treatment process. Depending on your treatment plan, you’ll be scheduled to see Dr. Guymon every 6-10 weeks or so. He’ll use these appointments to check that everything is progressing as it should be and adjust your appliance if necessary. If you’re wearing braces, the wire and elastics may be changed at this time as well.
We try to schedule appointments for a day and time that are convenient for you, but we know that things sometimes happen that may cause you to run late or miss your appointment. If this occurs, we simply ask that you let us know as soon as possible so we can reschedule. This will help us keep your treatment plan on track!
