Our Clear Aligner Process
Dr. Guymon can use 3M™ Clarity® clear aligners to give you a stunning smile quickly and efficiently using a series of clear, custom-fit aligners. Clear aligner treatment uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable acrylic trays to straighten your teeth gradually (like braces).
Clear aligners are removable, allowing you to eat and drink what you want during treatment and making brushing and flossing less problematic. Best of all, the aligners feel comfortable.
Here’s how it works:
1. Come in for Your Smile Consultation
At your free consultation, Dr. Guymon will assess the current state of your teeth and listen to the results you want. We'll discuss your financial needs to ensure your treatment fits your budget.
If Dr. Guymon determines that clear aligners are the best solution to help you get the smile you want, we'll create a treatment plan that best fits your situation.
2. Make a Plan
Our Guymon Orthodontics team will take digital images and X-rays of your teeth to use as the basis for your treatment plan. We’ll use a computerized program to design a series of clear, comfortable, removable aligners just for you.
Dr. Guymon will show you a projection picture of your final results after a 3D scan of your mouth and monitor your progress from start to finish.
3. Wear Your Almost-Invisible Braces
After receiving your clear aligners, you should wear them as much as possible, but you can easily remove them for eating, flossing, and brushing.
You’ll visit our Logan or Hyrum office for check-ups about every four to six weeks to get your new sets of aligners and for Dr. Guymon to check the progress of your teeth. These check-ups are generally quick and painless because you won’t have any wires to check or tighten.

Your aligners are made of smooth, comfortable, and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gently move your teeth into place little by little, based on the exact movements Dr. Guymon plans for you.
There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners about every two weeks until your treatment is complete.

Differences Between Braces & Clear Aligners
There's a lot to consider when it comes to clear aligner treatment. Most clear aligner patients at Guymon Orthodontics enjoy shorter check-ups, fewer appointments, simpler oral hygiene, and fewer emergency visits.
However, the system's biggest pro can also be a con—the fact that the aligners are removable.
Since braces are attached to your teeth, they do the heavy lifting to keep your treatment progressing. You need to do extra work during your treatment with clear aligners so your trays can work effectively.
You'll need to manage your wear time, keep your aligners clean, and swap them out for the next aligner in the series. You need to be sure that you can do this before committing to clear aligner treatment.
Like traditional metal braces, Dr. Guymon recommends wearing a retainer after your clear aligner treatment to maintain your new alignment and confident new smile.
