Making people smile is one of the things Dr. Russ Guymon enjoys doing most. A smile is a positive change in a person’s life, and Dr. Guymon considers it a privilege to provide that to patients of all ages.
Dr. Guymon is a native of Cache Valley, graduating from Mountain Crest High School. After graduation, he served a mission to Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Belarus. Speaking Russian allowed him to enjoy all four countries.
Dr. Guymon graduated from Utah State University with a Business Administration degree. From there, he went on to study at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. He graduated #1 in his dental class of 96 students.
The last stop on his educational journey was the University of Iowa for a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s Degree in Science. Dr. Guymon is certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, something only out in three orthodontists achieve.
Hyrum Braces
Traditional braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. They're made out of metal or ceramic brackets that are attached to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics. These brackets, wires, and bands work together to apply the gentle pressure that will gradually move the teeth into the positions we want them to be in if you have regular adjustments with our doctors.
Hyrum braces are an excellent choice for correcting complex tooth issues. Because they can sometimes work faster at aligning teeth and closing gaps than other treatments might, overall treatment time may be slightly reduced. Braces don't need some of the more complex technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can, making Hyrum braces a cost-effective orthodontic option.
Hyrum Invisalign
Invisalign is incredibly popular with both patients and orthodontists and is the top alternative to traditional braces. Instead of brackets and bands, the Hyrum Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth.
Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and customized to fit snugly over your teeth. In order to keep your teeth moving in the direction you want them to, you'll generally need to switch your invisible trays out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series. The Invisalign system can only work if the recommended guidelines are followed exactly! Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment. If patients neglect to wear the aligners as directed, it can impede the results and also add time to the orthodontic process.
Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complex cases, Invisalign may not be a good option. A free consultation with Guymon Orthodontics will allow us to determine your Invisalign eligibility.
